The Tyra, or “Kray”, have a few home system installations but for the most of their remaining population live on their ships. Self-appointed “Guardians” police the cluster to ensure little technological cross-contamination between systems. They regulate trade and intel through the recruitment of human and ET agents, whether willing or not. Due to the lack of system resources from past millenia of over exploitation, they quietly drain other systems of theirs.
Tyra have the appearance of large walking crayfish covered in a slimy film. They are able to communicate over short distances telepathically, and influence thoughts in some species. While they do dictate certain regulations within the cluster, they are often too busy with bizarre and abstract agendas to properly enforce them.
A little bit of deference goes a long way with those who interact with them.
From this system, at least 2 other clusters may be reached, the Touwi Cluster containing Yaziria, Vruskal, and Dolomeni, and the Schurtz Cluster containing Old Earth and Ares.
The Trya Protectorate, is home to nearly 600,000 Trya, housed on 4 SuperStations, 16 Stations, and numerous substations and ships. It is led by the Four Minds: Paterk the Protector, Zephryn Soulseer, Cali of the Water, and Diviyan the Red Mother. The Protectorate consists of four main divisions: Transference (80% of Trya), Industry (15%), Maintenance (4%), and Breeding/Genetics (1%). Maintenance employs species other than Trya directly though they may be contracted to the three other divisions. Maintenance is divided into the subdivisions of Exploration (Scouts, Habitation), Slipstream Transportation (Trade&Customs, Repairs), Supplies (Warehousing, Aquisitions), and finally the Sub-Species Goverance Subdivision. The SSD is broken down into the Policy Dept (Legal, Strategics), Enforcement Dept (Security, Patrol), Exploitation (Resources, Recruitment), and Intelligence (Investigation&Intercession, Synthesis). There are roughly 250 cross-species teams working for the Trya and close to 60,000 recruits.
